SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES

SCHOOL REPS: Darlene Braeder (Principal)
Meeting Convened: 7:20 pm
This meeting was called by the Executive of the Lord Byng PAC in
response to the changes in the Education Act, which require three parent
representatives to be elected to the new School Planning Council (SPC)
for each school.
As per the regulations, the PAC Executive have chosen one
representative previously from their number (Joan Savoie) and this
meeting was held to elect two additional representatives from the PAC
population as a whole.
Darlene reviewed the composition and role of the SPC and initiated a
discussion of the details that lasted for approximately half an hour.
Two people had previously expressed an interest in serving as PAC
representatives, who were unable to attend this meeting:
o Ken Cameron, PAC Member at Large and parent of Grade
Eight student
o Jeff Rice, parent of Grade Ten Byng Arts student
They were both elected by acclamation.
Non-voting alternates were selected as follows:
o Julie Boni
o Cris Gefaell
o Susan Balfour-Hunt
Darlene said that the Students have already chosen two reps and the
Teacher rep will be chosen in January, after the District holds the
training sessions. PAC will send all reps and alternates.
The Term of Office for this year will be until the end of June.
Formal meeting adjourned at 8 pm.
