Grad 2022 Fundraising

Hello Byng families! 

Every year, the Byng Parent Grad Committee raises funds to help support the celebrations of our school’s well-deserved graduates. These celebrations include the Grad Dinner & Dance and Grad Prom, and the costs to ensure a memorable Grade 12 graduation are significant. As well as doing their own student committee fundraising, students are still required to purchase tickets and the goal each year is to keep these ticket costs as low as possible. Thanks to everyone who supported our holiday greenery sale and Purdy fundraiser! 


Dear Parents and Guardians of the Graduating Class of 2022,


Despite the continuing pandemic, plans for the Grad Dinner Dance are well underway. The current plans follow all public health guidelines and should any of the guidelines change as we approach the event, details may have to be modified but we are hopeful a fun, memorable night will be had by all who attend. We’re excited to be able to celebrate graduation with this traditional event that is so beloved by students and families for the first time in two since 2019!


The evening is scheduled for June 11th at the Westin Bayshore from 5:30 to 10:30 pm and promises to be an unforgettable event for the grads and their dinner guests. While ticket sales and fundraisers like the bottle drive and greenery sale will help to keep admission costs down, we still need to raise funds to make the event come to life.


We have set an ambitious goal to raise $50,000 to ensure all 271 members of the class of 2022 have a safe and extraordinary graduation. This Direct Grad Appeal is a simple way to help. It also offers an opportunity to receive a tax receipt for your donation to the event.


Please consider donating to honour your graduate and the entire Lord Byng Secondary class of 2022.


The funds raised will contribute to many aspects of the event which may include:

• Tickets for grads and families in financial need

• Reduced rate tickets for teachers

• Decorations

• Transportation

• Hotel costs (including catering)

• Music/DJ (if permitted by health guidelines)


Ticket prices will be based on the results of the direct drive and other fund raising events, and will go on sale after Spring Break. Tax receipts will be issued automatically for donations or $20 or more.

Online Grad Donation Guide To donate online, follow these simple steps:

1. Go to

2. Choose from a list of donation amounts or enter your own specific amount.

3. Choose “Fund Destination.”
4. Select S-LORD BYNG from the drop-down menu.

5. To ensure your donation is applied to your student’s event, fill in the “Message” field under the section “Message to School Board” with:

7. Click “Add to Cart”.

8. Review the information and click “Continue” if everything is correct.

9. You will be prompted to sign in. (If you don’t have a School Cash Online account, then click on “Click here to register now” and follow the steps to complete the registration process.)

10. Once you have logged in, you can complete your payment using your credit card or echeque.

11. After the payment has been processed, a tax receipt will appear on screen for printing. You will also receive an emailed copy.
