Dear Byng Parents of the Class of 2025,
Congratulations on reaching this milestone! Guiding your children throughout the highs and lows of high school is a serious achievement —it has taken strength, patience, late nights, unwavering love, and (if you are anything like us) a lot of gritted teeth.
As your kids step into this next chapter of their lives, we take this moment to honour the journey you’ve travelled beside them. Your support has been essential to help them get ready for their next adventure.
Wishing you a few more nights of much-needed rest, peace, and a well-deserved exhale.
Congratulations parents & caregivers, one more finish line crossed!
Wishing you, and your family, a wonderful graduation season!

April 27, 2025
Dear Lord Byng Families,
It is with profound sorrow that we, the Parent Advisory Committee, extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones affected by the tragic events at the Lapu Lapu Block Party.
Our hearts ache for all those directly impacted and for every student, staff member, and family member in our community who is struggling in the wake of this unimaginable loss. We are holding each of you in our thoughts during this time of mourning.
We recognize that tragedies like this touch all of us in different ways. As parents ourselves, we understand how difficult it is to find words to comfort and how important it is to stand together in support. We are grateful to the Lord Byng staff and the broader Vancouver School Board community for providing counselling services and crisis support for students and families during this critical time.
Please remember that you are not alone. Our school community is here for you — to grieve with you, to listen, and to walk alongside you in the days ahead. If there are additional ways that the Parent Advisory Committee can support your family, we encourage you to reach out.
In solidarity and with heartfelt sympathy,
The Lord Byng Parent Advisory Committee
